2008 Review
After a slow start to the year, sales at CKF increased significantly from March surpassing the initial annual target, with projected sales in excess of £6 million.
A number of the larger contracts secured this year included a £1.2 million robot palletising system for Cadbury in Sheffield, several high value projects in Eastern Europe and a state of the art packing system for a UK based Dairy company.
These projects have been part of CKF’s strategic plan to invest in key personnel with the strengths and experience in turnkey projects, robotic applications and project management, all of which have proven to enhance the existing staff and assist in moving the company to a new level.
During 2008 CKF have also forged strategic partnerships with a number of major suppliers to the food industry and one in the final stages of a formal agreement with an established Eastern European company specialising in the process industry. This partnership will provide a direct route into the growing European markets and enable CKF to provide an enhanced range of services within the UK.
Whilst the national economic forecast for 2009 is rather gloomy, CKF Systems will enter the New Year with a high level of orders and coupled with a sound financial base, the company remain very optimistic.
Prospects and objectives for the New Year include expansion of our robotic capabilities and development of bespoke process equipment – whilst remaining vigilant in respect of changes in both the economy and marketplace.
